GIBS President Bob George met with Dr. William (Bill) Hogarth, Assistant
Administrator of NOAA and director of National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) that oversees the 8 Marine Fisheries Councils. They discussed
the upcoming 3rd International Deep-Sea Coral Symposium in Miami (Nov 28 – Dec 3, 2005) at the NOAA headquarters in Silver Spring, MA. The focus of their discussion was the emphasis of this symposium on ‘Science and
Management of Deep-Sea Coral Reefs and associated fisheries”.
